During Treatment

We carry out thread vein removal using sclerotherapy. A salt solution is injected into your vein using a very fine needle. The procedure takes approximately 15-30 minutes

How Sclerotherapy Is Done

In most cases of sclerotherapy, the salt solution is injected through a very fine needle directly into the vein. At this point, you may experience mild discomfort and cramping for one to two minutes, especially when larger veins are injected. The procedure itself takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes. There may be some cramping and discomfort when the injection is first administered but this soon passes and severity is dependent on the size of the vein.

The number of injections needed will be determined by the Doctor at consultation and will depend on the size and location of the veins.

It is advised that you do not undertake aerobic activity up to 72 hours after your treatment. It may be wise to avoid anti-inflammatory drugs for the same time period such as Ibuprofen.
